The Dodgers have just come off of a four game stretch against the division in which they ended up 2-2, for a combined 3-3-1 record overall.

The first of the four game stretch was played against the Cubs. This game was typical of most of our games with the team team trading the lead back and forth throughout. The team played well both offensively and defensively. Unfortunately in the end the Cubs edged us out by a 8-6 margin.

The second in the set was against the Yankees. The hardwork that the team has been putting in showed as they started out quick and never looked back earning their second win of the season.

The third in the series was a disappointing effort against the Red Sox. The team did not come ready to play, and it showed. The Red Sox took full advantage of the Dodger lackluster outing and won by the mercy rule.

The last of the games was the first game of the second round, which meant that dropped third strikes, and stealing home were allowed. The team started off the game like they finished their last one, by giving up five runs in the first without recording an out. The difference this time was that they didn't get down on themselves and chipped away at the lead over the next  couple of innings, while holding the Angels scoreless. The highlights of the game were provided by Christian Garcia who hit two homeruns to lead the Dodger scoring. Pete and Cory provided strong pitching performances to keep the team close. The hard work payed off, as in another close game the team pulled off a 13-12 victory against the Angels.

Dodgers Tie...

03/31/08

By Cory Moe

The Dodgers played to a 5-5 tie against the Redsox Saturday .

In what became a battle of pitching that saw the Dodgers fight back all day, in the end the game was decided by the time limit rule. Strong pitching by Steven and Cory kept the  Dodgers close, but it was Bob Nishimura that provided the spark the Dodgers needed at the plate. His timely hitting and exciting baserunning kept the game close.

The Dodgers do have bragging rights though, as the managers played out the final inning, Cory shut down the Redsox in the top half of the inning. Christian Garcia then promptly led off the bottom half of the inning with a walk-off homerun over the right centerfield fence.

Game balls went to both Bob and Christian for their fine efforts.

Dodgers vs. Angels

03/20/08

By Cory Moe

The Dodgers lost a close game to the Angels Wednesday night. After a slow start, the Dodgers rallied in the sixth inning to tie the score at 3-3. The rally started with a one out single by Christin Sul. After stealing both second and third, he was driven home by Steven Magdaleno. Cory Bradley came up to drive in the tying run with a two out double.

The Angels rallied in the bottem half of the inning to get the win.

Strong pitching by Steven, Peter, and Cory , as well as some key defensive plays, kept the game close throughout.

Cory Bradley was awarded the game ball for his timely hitting and strong pitching performance.

This was a great character building game as the team had to work through the tough start, and almost pulled out the game.
