Red Sox Defeat Dodgers!

05/03/08

By Mike Stone

Red Sox 14, Dodgers 1

The Sox continued their streak with a win today.  The bats were blazing as Corey Stone, Steven Oberly, DJ McAllister and Jesus Inocencio all had 3 hits.  A strong defense set the tone for Deron Barner and Steven Oberly to take care of the Dodgers from the mound.  Cathy Ruvalcaba was awarded the game ball for her great play in the outfield and toughness at the plate. The coaches praised the agressive baserunning and asked the team to prepare for the next game against the Yankees on Wednesday.

Red Sox Win Sizzler Over Angels!

04/26/08

By Mike Stone

Red Sox 12, Angels 8

With temperatures approaching 100 degrees on Mustang Field, the Red Sox bats ignited which sparked a victory on Saturday.  The Sox also received excellent pitching from starter Deuce McAllister who kept the game at bay for 3 innings allowing the team to build a comfortable lead.  Deron Barner finished the game in impressive fashion and was awarded the game ball for his hard work.

The team will practice on Monday and coaches encouraged all players to get to the batting cages once during the week as there are no weekday games.  No other team has scored as many total runs this year as this Red Sox crew and the coaches are pleased with overall progress.  Next game will be a week from today against the Dodgers.

Red Sox Display Skills!

04/22/08

By Mike Stone

Red Sox 16, Yankees 2

The Sox showed they were ready for Round 2 play with an excellent outing against the Yanks on Tuesday evening.  D.J. McAllister and Steven Oberly had strong appearances on the mound.  In addition to fine throwing, they both tested their pick-off moves and covered home plate effectively.

The Red Sox bats were once again screaming and the team produced this respectable run count in an abbreviated game.  Oberly blasted an inside-the-park HR.

The Sox showed huge improvement in baserunning especially around third base. The game ball was awarded to Ryan Dang for his poise and hustle on the bases.  The Sox will try and avenge their previous loss to the Angels on Saturday.
