The Red Sox got out to an early lead on Saturday and never let up. Through the continual chants of "BACK, BACK" from the defense, the Red Sox seemed to summon the late singer, Roy Orbison, and his crying growl of "MERCY!" to motivate their offense further.
Deuce McAllister pitched 3 nearly flawless innings and the coaches noticed a real development of team play. There were numerous offensive contributions throughout the lineup which enabled the Sox to extend many rallies. Jesus "the Save-ior" Inocencio was called to the mound in the fourth inning and closed the game in a spectacular first appearance.
Bobby Cortez and Eddie Arellano had breakout games but the game ball was awarded to Max Fowler for his infield hit which brought in the run to clinch the mercy win in the bottom of the fifth inning. The team will practice at Mustang Field on Monday and all players are encouraged to continue their individual regimen as there are no games next week due to Family Day.
